A Klangite myself, I hardly venture into Klang town for good food. But I do know of a hidden gem in Klang town - Restoran Boston Baru. The restaurant is open to patrons only at 7.30pm onwards and the tables and chairs are laid out by the road side because the lack of space within the restaurant. The restaurants in Klang are open for dinner from 6.00pm onwards but this one is extremely peculiar. However, the patrons don't seems to mind the hours.
I was due for my eye checkup after a month, and needed to head to Klang town where the infamous specialist clinic is located. The name of his clinic never fail to tickle my hubby - Eye Specialist Kok (If you read it in its usual naming - Surname/Name Clinic; If you don't get, sorry. I can't help you :P). Hubby saw it's an opportunity to visit the restaurant, despite the long wait. We both love the Hokkien Mee and the Lala (Clams) in superior soup. And we both swear that no one restaurant would beat these two dishes. While we thought we were early, boy, we were dead wrong. The restaurant starts at 7.30pm and there were at least 6-7 tables waiting to order.
Fried sotong - mediocre although I like the flour, light and crunchy. I could hardly taste any sotong/calamari.
The infamous hokkien mee (sorry for the bad lighting, we sat under the skies). Lard laden and fantastico! Love the thick noodle and the gravy.... packed with punch.
Another infamous clam in superior soup - utterly heavenly. They were very generous with the chinese wine, the ginger and garlic. It's so scrumptious that hubby was worried he'll get drunk while savouring every single drop of the soup. :P
Fried koay teow - we forgotten to request for a raw egg and hence, something was missing. A tad oily and lack of the wok hei.
Total damage for the night - RM 41. Cheap right? I will probably go again with my lil chef before he flies off to the States again.
